That night in Council meeting the shadow pictures were available for viewing by councillors. Councillor Gaudry criticized the lack of consultation with the public and the behaviour of developers and councillors on site that afternoon.

The protest was covered on all local radio and TV channels as well as wider on ABC news. the Newcastle Herald ran it on the front page the next day (and has had something on it every day since).
