The developers and/or council had a man stationed at the gateway to the site who was constantly on his mobile phone - as picked up by a protester opposite - reporting movements of the protesters to those upstairs and councillors and developers who were in their cars on the way to the meeting. The gate attendant also kept out a number of people who had been invited to the meeting, who despite showing him their invitations were asked to move from the site and some joined protesters.

Councillors arrived at the meeting and joined the protest to speak to the protesters.
