| On Tuesday 15th May, a group of thirty to forty local protesters gathered to oppose the proposed development of the "York Building", a 12-storey development that will deface and overshadow the already over-developed facade of beautiful Newcastle Beach. The protest coincided with the inspection of councillors and developers onsight. Whilst assembled, the Lord Mayor, decided to drive by to 'check us out'. |
| Protesters gathered at the kiwi ice cream cone shop in Zaara Street Newcastle East. The icecream shop kindly turned on half price icecream cones for the occasion. | |||
| The protesters proceeded along the beachfront to the site of the building chanting where despite wind and cold they flew their banners. | |||
